It's the hottest gadget of the year for good reason: Apple's iPhone 3G (from $199 with three-year Rogers Wireless term) combines a full iPod experience (music, photos, videos, podcasts and audiobooks) with fast Wi-Fi/3G connectivity and a PC-like browser, as well as functioning as a phone, GPS, camera and e-mail.

AT&T is hastening the development of its 3G network in some areas to get ready for the iPhone's launch, according to e-mail sent to the Buzz Out Loud podcast. A Pittsburgh report claims that AT&T is "ramping up" its 3G network in the area to ensure that the faster wireless service is ready for the iPhone by May.
